Each student receives two 45-minute lessons per week with their assigned faculty instructor.

Unique to Sounding Point Academy, students have four hours of scheduled practice time daily. Paired with high quality instruction, we structure built-in practice time to facilitate students’ focus and growth during their time at the academy.

Sounding Point students begin every weekday morning with a 30-minute Scale Class led by our faculty. Topics include technique, pedagogy, orchestral excerpts, audition preparation, and career guidance.

Our esteemed faculty and guest artists/presenters lead daily masterclasses and lectures. As leading soloists, concertmasters, pedagogues, and chamber musicians, our faculty and guests offer insights to enrich our students' growth as artists.

Through a workshop led by award-winning theatre director and Colburn faculty member, Debbie Devine, our students learn about communicating meaningfully and intentionally with their audience members. The forum focuses on developing public-speaking skills and stage presence through a series of interactive exercises.

Sounding Point Academy holds between six and eight performances throughout the duration of the program. All evening recitals are free and open to the public. For those tuning in from outside of LA, our concerts are livestreamed via the Colburn School.
